Transformer l’Homme

Conceived on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the Greek composer Iannis Xenakis, the show Transformer l’Homme offers an immersive dive into the musical and visual universe of this avant-garde artist. The program, articulated around six pieces for percussion, choir and electronic music composed on the UPIC (a graphical composition tool), weaves links between complementary aspects of his repertoire: energy, sound masses, spatialization, human voice... As a visual counterpoint to the music, a light installation in the open air interacting with the surroundings takes the audience on a multisensory journey. The convergence of sound and visual means creates an experience that fully immerses the spectator in the magma of primary forces that makes the originality and power of Xenakis' work.

Membrana

Born from the colaboration between percussionist Tomás Moital and sonic artist Pierre Carré, the performance Membrana proposes a musical exploration at the surface of the skins : those of the drums, and those of the loudspeakers. The membrane is a junction point for percussion and electronics, since it is for both one of the fundamental components of sound production – as much a tool for acoustic reproduction as a musical instrument. Thus, through an interplay of organic porosities, percussions morphs into sonic chimeras, while electronics become an embodied instrument: new hybrids emerge from the interpenetration of two musical archetypes.
